FRANK'S BALANCE SHEET
Quote: "There is a scratch golfer in this body just waiting to come out."
Q: Anything memorable about your first meeting with William Master?
A: No, don't even remember it.
Q: How was your partnership formed?
A: We were both with the Wilmington office of Touche Ross after their merger with J. K. Lasser & Company. Both of us decided that Big 8 wasn't the right place for us or as a practice in Wilmington. We elected to de-merge and started our own practice. We've practiced together for over 30 years now.
Q: What are the values you both share?
A: Honesty, integrity, trust and a strong work ethic.
Q: How did your involvement with the construction industry begin and evolve?
A: From the very first client in the industry I became interested. The owners of construction companies are interesting and dynamic individuals who are truly risk takers. They are bottom line oriented which fits my personality. Plus the type of services we provide is varied and challenging.
Q: What are the unique aspects of construction accounting?
A: Budgets, projections, measurements, and performance.
Q: What defines a closely held business and what are the unique service needs?
A: Businesses which are privately held and generally run by individuals with an entrepreneurial spirit. Many are family owned and operated businesses. What they need is a relationship based on trust; we provide the audit, accounting and tax planning and preparation as well as consulting. The consulting runs the gamut and includes succession planning, estate planning, family issues, transactional issues and general business consulting. You really get to know the client and the unique aspects of their business.

Frank earned a B.S. in Accounting from the Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science, began his career with a regional firm and later worked for a Big Eight firm before founding Master, Sidlow & Associates, P.A.
